Atomica- David Bowie
Senior Service- Elvis Costello
These two happened courtesy of the iPod. I absolutely loved how they sounded together. And I love when that happens. (That Bowie track is a leftover from "The Next day," by the way.)

Living In The Past- Billie Davis
It's as if Ian Anderson had Billie Davis and this arrangement in mind when he wrote the song. This is the rare occasion where I like the cover more than the original.

Life Will Pass You By- Kaleidoscope
The American Kaleidoscope with David Lindley and Chris Darrow released four truly unique records that are never boring. There is a terrific compilation out there called "Bacon From Mars" that I highly recommend if you dig this tune.

Love Will Stone You- Emitt Rhodes
This was left over from last week's viewing of the Emitt Rhodes documentary. It was performed on the Dick Cavett show and of course, I needed to hear it.

Hurry Up Sundown- Bruce Springsteen
And speaking still of leftovers, this came out on the E.P. of leftovers, "American Beauty." It shoulda been a hit!

Parlez Nous A Boire- Li'l Band O'Gold
My favorite supergroup out of Louisiana, because we all could use a li'l bit o' fun these days.

Great mix, Sal, thanks for this. One comment - I believe The Kaleidoscope anthology is Beacon From Mars, rather than Bacon. But bacon does sound good on Sunday morning. Stay well!

Actually Bing, it IS "Bacon!"

I stand corrected, Sal. That will teach me to refrain from commenting before I've had my morning coffee.

Nice one, Mr N, and a very welcome mix with the Springsteen and Tull cover special treats. Actually I believe I had some Martian bacon a few years back in a little bed & breakfast place outside of Liverpool - certainly tasted like it. Cheers!

Armed Forces was the first Costello album I bought, and I think Senior Service was the one that reeled me in. The mix of the opening riff, with Nieve's distinctive keyboards, and the lyrics about wanting to chop off your head and watch it roll into the basket, countered by the jaunty tune and Costello's voice--it all hooked deep into my brain.

Nerd/fan that I was in college, I used this lyric as the opening to my senior comprehensive project:
Though it may be second hand
It's by no means second rate

I got a B.
