Everything

Absolutely killer last gasp from Philly's The Orlons. One of only two singles they released for ABC-Paramount and both sank without a trace. I found "Everything" listed as both the A or B side, depending on who you read. This one feels more girl group, a la The Toys' "Lover's Concerto" than the dancey hits like "Don't Hang Up," "South Street" and "The Wah-Watusi" that the band recorded for the Cameo-Parkway label. I can't even be sure if the great Rosetta Hightower is singing here. This popped up on the iPod a week or two ago, and I don't recall where or when I originally found it, but I did wind up picking up a nice copy of the 45 just last week. I just love this record and love discovering a record this good even more.

That's what I have on this Monday morning.

Enjoy.

I went into a record store yesterday - a big one, with a nice-sized dollar section (usually my bread and butter) and a section for marked down cd's (ditto) - and I came out with nothing. it's never happened before. "Everything" makes me think I need to start browsing the 45 section.

Often in the morning I think I know my listening plan to start the day, then I visit BW and I’m proven wrong. Thank you for that - and thank you for this revelation, Sal! Much gratitude. It’s amazing! Hope everyone is well.
