Brighton Rock- Queen
This song had been a concert staple for years, used as a showcase for Brian May's guitar solo and trickery. But all those live versions could never deliver the weird charm of the original, which showcases everyone in the band.

Distant Sun- Crowded House
Neil Finn and his house mates have a new one due in June. The band lost more than a drummer when they lost Paul Hester, but I'm looking forward to the new one and hoping it gets back some of the magic that can be found in pop gems like this one.

That Don't Satisfy Me- Brother Cane
I had tons of these CDs in the $2 crates at my shop, and every time I played this track, I'd make $2. Can't remember anything else about this album or Brother Cane, but this is one great rocker.

Don't Bust My Chops- The Ramones
Just don't.

Why Don't You Just Drop In- Giles, Giles & Fripp
Not long before "The Court Of The Crimson King" there was GG&F and their quirky blend of folk, psychedelia, classical and madness. I love this track.

Inspiration/Information- Shuggie Otis
I pulled the recent Sharon Jones covers collection out to give a spin, but then felt like hearing the original version of this track instead.

U.S. Blues- Grateful Dead
Long before I made an about face and became a fan of the Grateful Dead, the songs that kept me away were "Truckin'," "Casey Jones" and "U.S. Blues." They were played constantly on rock radio and I wanted no part. Years later and I still haven't warmed to "Truckin'" and "Casey Jones," but I love "U.S. Blues" and its swinging groove. I even dig the harmonies.

Best tune-filled SOTW zip since last week's! The Dead's "American Beauty" album was a real eye and ear-opener for me & I still love every track on it, especially - you guessed it - "Truckin'". Cheers!

Hello all...no, please remain seated,

Brighton Rock really is such a killer track and the Crowded House song is a true gem. I, too, was a late convert to the Dead (last year!). It was finally hearing Scarlet Begonias that somehow tipped the scales for me and I finally decoded them. U.S. Blues is a pleasure of a song.

Best....RichD
