Thursday

After a respected film career that has spanned across 60 years and hundreds of movies, Paul Sorvino has now become lead singer of The Cure.

And... brand new from Field Music.

since Robert Smith is just 4 years younger than me, i'm gonna cut him some slack. seventeen seconds was probably the first "post-punk" album I was exposed to and it opened a lot of things up for me

Fun!

Reminds me of Robbie Fulks' "Fountains of Wayne Hotline"

I got on board the Field Music train with Commontime. It struck the right balance of musicianship and good songs. Everything before and after seemed to be more concerned with being clever and showing off how good they were than with the music. I didn't know there was a new album coming out so this is the first thing I've heard from it. At first listen, it sounds promising. They've stopped created songs with 30 different changes and concentrated on making a coherent song. Also happened to find "Orion on the Street" which I liked as well. So come tomorrow, I'll be listening to the whole album and maybe I'll get back on board.

That was seriously a lot of fun!

Thanks for exposing me to Field Music. (Hmmm, that didn't come out quite right).

Thanks for turning me on to Field Music, (Hmmm, not much better).

Thanks!

Just realized, it's a bit of a cop from "Houses of the Holy", isn't it?
