The Word- Bettye Lavette
Miss Lavette has done wonders with a number of songs, but this "Rubber Soul" track is a favorite. It is an inspired choice and an inspired performance.

Stupidity- The Detroit Cobras
For Rachel. (Anyone have any insight on what happened? Rachel Nagy was too young, though not as young as the reports. 37? I don't think so.)

Cliche Todd Rundgren
A conversation with a friend about Todd and his upcoming tour with Daryl Hall led to a number of side chats, including my Top Ten Rundgren songs. This track made it to the Top Fifteen.

Grounds For Separation- Hall & Oates
A conversation with a friend about Daryl and his upcoming tour with Todd Rudngren led to a number of side chats, including my Top Ten H&O songs. While this didn't make the Top Fifteen, I do love using it as an example of how H&O are not all about "Maneater" and "No Can Do."

A Little More Time- John Doe & Kathleen Edwards
The second duet from Doe's "A Year In The Wilderness," while not quite "bliss in a bottle" like "The Golden State," this track is a perfect combo of joy and sadness. (How about an entire Doe/Edwards album? Who's on board?)

Don't Stop- Geraint Watkins
One of many unsung gems from the great Geraint Watkins, long time sideman and collaborator of Nick Lowe.

Fill In The Blanks- Elvis Costello
"The Boy Named If" got me thinking about the Wendy James demo. Here's one of them.

Todd is touring with Daryl Hall? That sounds promising

Does Tood ever stay home and put his feet up?

Have you heard anything about his next collaboration album?

Love those early-mid Hall & Oates songs. So underrated.

Randy,
This is what I know:
Space Force is the title. Delayed from last year to this year because Cleopatra wanted all formats released simultaneously.

Tracks with Sparks, Weezer, Neil Finn, The Roots, Steve Vai, Adrian Belew, Rick Nielsen.

That's all I got.

Thanks for posting - yes please, more Doe/Edwards music...

"Tomorrow Hasn't Happened Yet" might by John Doe's best solo Lp out of a relatively long/strong string of interesting solo Lps.

Worth unzipping for the Bettye Lavette alone. Oh, and the Geraint Watkins too. Many thanks.
