Steely Donetsk

Because I know many of you do not see the sidebars of this blog, here is our pal Shriner's contribution to the happy pool. This deserves a post of its own.

Thanks, Shriner.

And while I'm here, if you are using your smartphone to access this blog, you will not see the sidebars unles you scroll to the very bottom and switch to "web version." This means you miss the Song Of The Day, Cover Of The Day, the chat box, the donation button and a few other random lagniappes.

Well hell, that just took a great song and managed to elevate it even more. Sharing with a fellow Dan freak (as I am) next...

If you go down the rabbit hole with Leonid and friends, they do some amazing covers of Chicago tunes as well!

And they pull them off live amazingly as well.

And, seriously, if you don't like this -- you just don't like music. :-)

Well done Shriner!

And Sal, I don't burn wood on my phone most of the time but even on my desktop have to remind myself to scroll left and right. I often find the top right "Cover Of The Day" a great reminder of music (the cover, the original, other versions, ...) of which I have forgotten / never knew.

For some reason the left side chat box is often blank to me. Pilot Error I'm sure!

Did I mention how much I dig Laura Nyro / LaBelle?

Holy fucking shit. That was red hot. Big thank you. You won't be on the sharing txt.
From the old man rhythm section (personal fav) with the drummer in the Ohio State Tee to the tighter than tight horn section and everything in between, it was was Tony Tiger Grrrrrrreat. And who doesn't like a pseudo biker back up singer.
Thanks again that was really terrific

Fabulous. I think I will be taking a ride down that particular rabbit hole. Thanks!

I've known of Leonid & Friends for quite some time now and they are utterly terrific. As Shriner said above their Chicago covers are pretty amazing. And if you're interested they also do a bang up version of Deep Purples' Stormbringer. Good stuff!

These guys are fantastic. They just finished a tour of the US (which I missed), but there is a video on YouTube of the last show and it is awesome. Watch for them and support them!
