I am probably asking for trouble by raving about a song called "Nothing Is As Good As They Say It Is." But, I've been in trouble before.
I love this Sparks track. If you're a fan, you will hear a little bit of "Kimono My House" and a little bit of "Angst In My Pants." It is typically offbeat, in that "you are either in or you're out" Mael Brothers way, and of the three lead tracks from the forthcoming "The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte" LP, this is the one for me.
The record, their first back on Island Records since 1976, is out on May 26th.

Dangggggggg. I'm about to turn 70 and finally a good summation of life...well, except for that one thing...and that other....and ...actually, Sparks hits the mark for some of life, but what can you expect from a 22-hour-old? I look forward to getting the album.
Allow me to disagree with you on this one (re the "either in or out" on the Mael bros). I'm not a fan of Sparks' music, but I found this quite catchy, and I chuckled at a couple of the lines, to boot (I do like dry humor...). And I absolutely love the idea of the song, which, on its face, is absurd, but I suspect close to the truth of what actual 22-hour-olds would say, had they the voice to say it.
If the rest approach this likeability, maybe I'll finally catch on...?

Reminds me a little of "B.C." as well... certainly that three record stretch, starting with Kimono.
Excellent tune, and I don't mind the vocal at all! I'm looking forward to hearing more.
Brilliant!
Excellent new track, hope they play it live when I see them next month in Holland!
