Baby Ain't You Shame- Jr. Walker & the All-Stars
From one of my favorite non-comp Motown albums, "Home Cookin'," let's get started with Jr. Walker & The All-Stars.
Baby Please Don't Go/Green Onions- Mary Flower
Easily my favorite acoustic blues, instrumental version of this medley!
Out-A Order- 4th Street Orchestra
Played this album while packing for the trip home from Kingston, so now this track will always take me back.
Time Stand Still- Rush
This was mentioned on the "Classic Tracks Deeply Indebted To Outside/Guest/Hired Backing Vocalists" post on 9/22. I had forgotten all about Aimee Mann's appearance and I had forgotten all about the 80's output of Rush, because it just didn't grab me like the classic albums. I revisited "Hold Your Fire" and really enjoyed it.
Don't Bust My Chops- The Ramones
And speaking of forgotten 80's output, here are The Ramones and a late 80's fave from "Brain Drain."
Between The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea- George Harrison
George loved his ukulele and you can feel that love on this Harold Arlen classic.
The Last Blues- John Coltrane
Recorded in 1965 but unreleased until 1998, the last word goes to John Coltrane with "The Last Blues," a song that even those who don't like jazz might dig. (Nah!)

Wow, Aimee Mann is on that Rush song? Crazy - thanks for that and for this mix!
Aimee Mann??!! Did not know. And the Coltrane is great.
Really dug the 4th Street Orchestra song, and then really dug the whole album on YT. Scouring Discogs, was surprised to see a pressing on Music On Vinyl - do you happen to know anything about that one?

Randy,
I own the MOV version. Sounds great. Replicates the original cover. Affordbale. Grab it while you can.
Got it, thanks! Great stuff!!

Am I the only one who heard a bit of Mac's "Dragonfly" in that intro to Out-A-Order? Not a complaint!

The opening guitar line is also a direct rip of Jimi Hendrix's "Third Stone From The Sun."
One of my favourite Rush tracks, but this SOTW is worth it just for the Ramones tune. Thanks for zipping it. Cheers!
