Been Caught Reeling

"Well, at least it wasn't the drummer this time! 😆"

That was a message from my old bandmate cmealha after reading about the on stage altercation between Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro.

In case you missed it, Perry said the band was too loud and drowning out his voice. Then Dave counted in "Ocean Size" before Perry was ready. Perry got in Dave's face. A crew member tried to de-escalate the whole thing, but then Eric put Perry in a headlock and punched him. Perry cried. Jane's canceled their next show, but will perform on the 18th.

And there you have it, a day in the life of a band.

Personally, I think this is the way to go. First time a guitarist is playing too loud, just smack him across the face.  End it right there. No more passive aggressive shit.

I'm laying 8-5 that Oasis makes it through two of their six Wembley shows.

Apparently Perry has been complaining about the volume for most of the tour which leads me to ask if he'd been attending the sound checks.

As for Oasis, I do think they will complete their contracted dates. There's just too much money on the table. Beside the 2 hours on stage, they will never be near each other traveling on different buses, etc.

I think you might be right about Oasis.

Playing music brings out the best and worst in us.

Perry Farrell acting out. I am shocked and stunned.

Never got what the deal was about either Oasis or, especially, Jane's. The former did have some crunchy catchy songs, and the latter...had an irritatingly calculating guy whose voice was second only to Axl Rose's in the 'cat-raped-by-a-blazing-baseball-bat' voice department. Someone oughta mash 'em up: "Jane saaaaaaays/I don't really wanna know/how your garden grows....."

I have friends in a band that opened for Oasis back in the day. My friends had to give up their dressing room so the brothers didn't have to be in the same room together.

Nothing's Shocking- the Janes tour has been cancelled. The band members are blaming Perry's mental issues.

I clearly recall telling a band member one time that his antics (if he had been in a former group I had played in) would have resulted in him spitting/shitting teeth.

So... Navarro had his amps at 11?

Navarro had his Fu Manchu at 11.

I don't think Oasis will make it through the sound check.

i haven't paid much attention to them in recent years but jane's was my favorite band back in the 80's. they seemed like a direct descendent of the stooges sometimes. with eric avery back in the band i was keeping an eye on them recently. i was fortunate to see the original lineup a few times and they were always a mess. that was part of the beauty of them. they were a beautiful, powerful and dangerous mess. they were great then but this latest episode was just sad and a little pathetic.
