Great Seconds In Rock 'N' Roll, A Burning Wood Pop Up: #3

The intro, but especially when the tamborine comes in in "Monkey Man."

Have always thought this was an under rated Stones song

I agree with Kevin. This is a top 10 Rolling Stones song in my playbook and I bet you most people don't know it.

I love the piano intro and the arrival of the guitar riff.

It’s an all time Stones classic. Every little detail in the arrangement is wonderful in my opinion.

68-72 is just one great moment after another. This one could have been Jimmy Miller's idea as likely as anyone else.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this song. Another great few seconds is Charlie's full kit appearance in this one.

If there is such a thing as an underrated Stones' song, this is it.

Think Monkey Man is under rated even by the Stones. I've seen them 2 dozen times over the past 40 years and I've never seen them play it live.

They played it live for the first time in 1994, then 2003. Maybe a few other times in between and since. It doesn't work live. It loses all its nuance.
