George Romero's "THE BANGLES"

 I mean, what the hell?

And?

I liked it. Lead guitar was mixed way too low, but otherwise I thought it was pretty cool.

I wonder if Matthew Sweet is touring with them on bass...

I think it's completely lifeless. It doesn't even sound like they are singing in their range. And I like the band, but this did zero for me.

I agree, Sal. They look great (still), but the vocals sound like they hadn't figured out a key that they could manage to sing it in.

Ouch!

It looks like it's just a soundcheck. Explaining the lifeless performance. Maybe ?

I agree that it's probably a soundcheck.

Otherwise you'd see hordes of disgruntled fans rushing the stage for their money back.

Fair enough. It may be a soundcheck. But the lazy vocals are still inexcusable. Is THAT the way they want to sound during the show?

Man, cue the Graceland scene from Spinal Tap: "it's not fookin' raga!" :)

It's difficult to really tell much about the performance because the camera's microphone is so overloaded the audio distorted and is not clear at all.

What the livin' heck? This is great! I thought they were playing The Who's "Can't Explain" like I always do with this great Nazz song but that's another story....

This clip reminds me, why aren't there more all-gurl bands? So much more fun to look at (for me) than hairy dude bands.

I don't think it was a soundcheck, but rather, an informal concert.

From what I was able to find online, it was a benefit concert to help raise money to help offset medical bills incurred by the wife of the Bangles' keyboard player.

My question is ... "Where is Michael Steele?"
She wasn't there? Or she was behind the column or something from that lousy cameraman's position?
About their performance - I think the key is a tad low for Susanna's range.
IMHO we should appreciate that the fact they chose one of the forgotten gem by Todd for their repertoire.

A cover of "Meridian Leeward/Under the Ice" would have been ever-so-much-moreso awesome.

Michele Steele is no longer in the Bangles. Matthew Sweet is supposedly doing the bass duties for their next album

They're still hotties and I'd do them, but not because of this performance. Play it like ya mean it, already. And wear red stilettos. Thanks, girls.

hoffs still hot...but vapid....nick mangold on drums looking buff.

You have to admit...Todd doesn't have legs that nice!

Very flat. I'm not wise to the Rundgren version. But I heard this a while back for a cause as well. I'm a Jeffrey Gaines and Tommy Conwell fan, so I'm biased.
