This is one helluva collection, if I do say so myself. This two-parter gathers the original versions of a surplus of songs covered by Mr. McManus over the years. You will get the original versions of everything found on both "Almost Blue" and "Kojak Variety," as well as a plethora of EC bonus tracks and b-sides all by the original artists.
What else can I say?
Dig in.
Enjoy the Weekend Mixes!

What's this I hear about somebody having a birthday?

Wow -- what a great mix.
And I guess Happy Birthday is in order!
Have a great birthday and a wonderful wekend.
I really hated the Rush mix, because I guess I hate Rush. And I loathed that Pete Townsend song off the shelves, but this is exactly up my alley. Thanks! I'm burning a car copy immediately.
This is why the Internet is so great. People actually DO (and SHARE) what I would only THINK ABOUT DOING (and usually NOT do).
Wonderful.
Thanks.
Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday! Don't be too impressed. Karen remembered.
Did "I'm Your Toy" originally have a different title?
P.S. Awesome! Have some of these but this is a feast. Yum. I like the idea of you giving presents on your birthday.
Wow. Looks like a great collection.
And another example of a truth about bootlegs:
the quality of the material inside is inversely related to the quality of the graphic design outside...
And Happy Birthday, sir. Will there be cake?
"I'm Your Toy" aka "Hot Burrito #1".
Happy Birthday!
Oh, this is just the kind of stuff I love. Thanks and happy birthday.
damn, that's the problem with living on the west coast these days, I can't be the first to wish one of my favorite people on this planet a happy birthday.
Thanks!
Missing in action: "God Only Knows" (Brodsky Quartet) and "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away"
Happy birthday, sir. Make it count.
Izzy
Just for the record, I do believe that's Waylon Jennings, not Merle Haggard.
Just finished listening to the whole thing. Thanks again.

Happy Birthday my old chum. Nice mix. Enjoy the weekend!
just finished listening to Elvis singing "Brilliant Disguise" from Jimmy Fallon last night, click on Burning Wood to find this great weekend mix.
and to carry coincidence farther, in a few hours we're joining one of our oldest & best friends for dinner to celebrate his 60th birthday.
Whichever year it is for you, Sal, a most happy birthday! Much appreciation for this mix and Burning Wood!

Happy BDay! Thanks for another great mix. Cheers.
Thank you to everyone for the fab B'day wishes! Great great great!
Agree, this is a WOW. My inner snob says I know a bunch of these, and my inner fan says, "Don't bother me tonight. I'm very busy."
Thanks a million.
This is fantastic, well done!!
Best, Mike
I had a chance to listen to some of the cuts I wasn't familiar with and the thing that strikes me is how much better Elvis' take is for most of them.
So looking forward to this!! Er these thises!
Heck YES! Elvis is one of the fine interpreters of songs, so this is a REAL treat. Thanks Sal!
Yup - I haven't heard many of these, so I gotta check it out. Happy birthday to you, sir.
Wonderful! Thank you.
Sheeyit - What an idea and what a playlist!!! Take a bow, Sal!
And on YOUR birthday you are serving US Elvis cover-originals cake!
Thank you :-)
Bloody excellent. Many thanks for putting this together. I have along drive next week, so this will be the accompaniment!
May you continue from strength to strength.
Thanks for all the hard work, Sal.
OMG - thanks! I've collected this stuff piecemeal over the years, but have never had a handy one-stop reference like this. Rock on, Sal... - bill buckner
Sal,
thank you for this collection, years ago I bought a collection called All These Useful b Sides that have many of Costello's versions of these songs so its great to match them up with the originals. The weird thing is the font you used is identical to the cd I have. Any connection or just a weird coincidence ?it was 1999 and made by Yet Another Outstanding TK release.
@Anon.
Not a coincidence.
