"Pay It Back: The Original Costello Covers: : THE WEEKEND MIX

This is one helluva collection, if I do say so myself. This two-parter gathers the original versions of a surplus of songs covered by Mr. McManus over the years. You will get the original versions of everything found on both "Almost Blue" and "Kojak Variety," as well as a plethora of EC bonus tracks and b-sides all by the original artists.

What else can I say?

Dig in.

Enjoy the Weekend Mixes!

I really hated the Rush mix, because I guess I hate Rush. And I loathed that Pete Townsend song off the shelves, but this is exactly up my alley. Thanks! I'm burning a car copy immediately.

This is why the Internet is so great. People actually DO (and SHARE) what I would only THINK ABOUT DOING (and usually NOT do).

Wonderful.

Thanks.

Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday! Don't be too impressed. Karen remembered.

Did "I'm Your Toy" originally have a different title?

P.S. Awesome! Have some of these but this is a feast. Yum. I like the idea of you giving presents on your birthday.

Wow. Looks like a great collection.

And another example of a truth about bootlegs:
the quality of the material inside is inversely related to the quality of the graphic design outside...

And Happy Birthday, sir. Will there be cake?

"I'm Your Toy" aka "Hot Burrito #1".

damn, that's the problem with living on the west coast these days, I can't be the first to wish one of my favorite people on this planet a happy birthday.

Missing in action: "God Only Knows" (Brodsky Quartet) and "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away"

Just for the record, I do believe that's Waylon Jennings, not Merle Haggard.

Just finished listening to the whole thing. Thanks again.

Agree, this is a WOW. My inner snob says I know a bunch of these, and my inner fan says, "Don't bother me tonight. I'm very busy."
Thanks a million.

I had a chance to listen to some of the cuts I wasn't familiar with and the thing that strikes me is how much better Elvis' take is for most of them.

Sal,
thank you for this collection, years ago I bought a collection called All These Useful b Sides that have many of Costello's versions of these songs so its great to match them up with the originals. The weird thing is the font you used is identical to the cd I have. Any connection or just a weird coincidence ?it was 1999 and made by Yet Another Outstanding TK release.

@Anon.

Not a coincidence.
