Good News, Bad News, Bad News, Bad News

GOOD NEWS:

I didn't break anything, raise my voice, pop a vein, or throw anything large and breakable across the room.

I am not giving up the blog.

BAD NEWS:

After 5 years, I have just been told my URL was "temporary." Everything, 5 years of zip files, has been disabled.

In order to continue, it will cost an additional chunk of money on top of what I already pay and...AND the previous zips will remain disabled unless I go back and rename everything, which I just cannot do.

There are plenty of other options and I am looking into them. Please be patient.

I am taking a break to regroup from what was already a pretty shitty fucking week.

My apologies to all. But it serves me right, offering up free music. What a kooky idea.

See you sooner than later.

(Oh hell, maybe I will go break something.)

Sal, don't despair!

At least your blog is still up - and it's really your writing and the comments that would be irreplaceable.

DivShare is another option. They're very easy to navigate and I believe they offer 20 GB free now. The only downside is that they're not quite as reliable as box and maybe once or twice a year there's a temporary glitch that lasts couple of days. (I still have all of my files on divShare and have never lost anything.)

Best of luck,
Marie

I agree with Vintage. I've always appreciated your writing above all else. As long as you're able to provide me with insight, opinions, passion and knowledge, I'm good.

In the meantime have a glass of wine and put on the Palma Violets (my new fave band of the week)

I'm pretty new to your site, but I've enjoyed reading your thoughts and the comments that they draw. Hope you hang in there!

I threw something, screamed and popped a vein on your behalf.

I and many others like me (and, let's face it - many others UNLIKE me) DO appreciate your efforts (to expose all of us to music they would never have otherwise thought about), and, having worked in various sales capacity's in my life......I can tell you that what you rcv'd from these clowns had nothing to do with "Customer Service"!!!!! I rarely download your mixes. Have a lot of the tracks anyway, though I do like how they are combined. I visit this site for intelligent commentary from you and your readers. I don't always agree, but it can certainly change my perspective. Keep up the good work, and fight the good fight!

Hello all...no, please remain seated,

Jeez...what a hassle! Can't imagine. Hang in there and I hope that there's a resolution. To echo others above, your writing is informative, amusing and thought provoking. And the comments section gives we peanut-gallery peeps a place to share and crack wise. A nice place to hang out.

regards,
RichD

Sal - let me know if I can be of any assistance. I have a lot of the files from the last couple of years and I have free time if you need any help typing. It's the least I can do for all the great music you've shared...just let me know.

I am here for the free music. I try to wade through the intelligent commentary, just in case there is a link hidden there.
But this truly sucks. An aphorism I never got, until it was first person is: "No good deed goes unpunished."
I do have many, many of the zip files on hard drive. So, that could be a resource going down the road.
Here's another one: "Why do bad things happen to good bloggers?"
Hang in there my brother . . .
