TV life (still) just doesn't get any better than the Honeymooners. At least to geezers like me.
In any case, wishing a very Merry Christmas to you, Sal, for sharing all the music, knowledge and commentary throughout the year. And thanks to all the commenters for their entertaining posts. I get a lot of laughs and entertainment from this place.
Ha! I didn't discover the Honeymooners until I was a New Yorker living in a postage-stamp walkup studio. The brilliance of it, almost all done in the four walls of that "living room"—a setting so bleak and confining it wouldn't be out of place in a Beckett play, still knocks me out.
And like Anonymous said, this pause between the trauma of major holidays seems as good a time as any to say Thanks, Sal, for your commentary, your writing, and your heart, than which there is none bigger or truer from the Badlands to Nebraska. Here's hoping you have a great year.
