Just thought I would mention, because I know you (like me) are a Costello admirer, that his new memoir is getting mostly rave reviews as one of the best rock memoirs ever -- and actually written by the artist!
Deep Purple was the first gig I ever went to, midnight ferry crossing, playing hooky from high school and all, and "Speed King" was the unforgettable opening number, the cacophonous guitar/organ intro hitting me square in the face (like that bag of nickels). Anyway, thanks for the collected tastiness that is the SOTW.
